Wendy Aldred - Barrister


BIOGRAPHY

Wendy is an experienced barrister with a practice in public law and civil litigation.  She was admitted to the Bar in 1995, and was employed in private law firms in New Zealand and England, and at the Crown Law Office, before joining the independent Bar in 2007.  Wendy acts for a wide range of public and private sector clients, and her recent work has included:

  • Medico-legal work and health sector law
  • Public law advice and litigation
  • Advising regulatory authorities on the conduct of investigations and hearings
  • Acting as independent investigator in employment investigations
  • Human rights law
  • Electoral law
  • Intellectual property litigation
  • Disputes under the Public Works Act
  • Privacy law
  • Official information and Ombudsman's complaints
  • Coroners' inquests

Wendy has appeared before the New Zealand courts at all levels as well as specialist tribunals and disciplinary authorities.
